Emma Woodford

After studying art at A-level and taking inspiration from the local cotswold countryside I decided to combine my two loves, French and painting, by moving to Paris in 1994. Whilst there I studied French at the Alliance Française college and also enrolled in local artist Chantal Requichot’s atelier in J’ardin d’acclimitation where I spent every spare moment immersing myself in the use of all different mediums, experimenting with colour and texture.

After many exhibitions in Paris and five years studying with Chantal I relocated to Switzerland where the inspiration to paint and exhibit continued with colour always being at the forefront of my paintings and it remains that way today where I still like to experiment with different mediums, personalising my painting through texture and a very loose approach to oil painting and my interpretation of the colours that I see and I hope you do too.
